G3 is a Kwaito music group consisting of two twin brothers Sibongiseni and Siyabonga who hail from Umlazi, Durban. They started music in 1996 whilst they were doing Grade Four at the age of twelve. In Umlazi they met a music band called Unity which gave them an opportunity to explore different music genres with live performances and music bands.
They chose kwaito because of their musical background and influence of the rural drumbeat. They then started to create their own rhythm using bass drums. They have just released their debut album featuring the hot single “Ngingo wakho”
which is already enjoying air play in many community and commercial radio stations. G3 is ready to rock the Kwaito scene with original Kwaito sounds and their controversial title – Nobody owns Kwaito.
