Long description
Music to this fantasy film is composed by the acclaimed Javier Navarrte. The score is built around a single lullaby, devised by the composer through his impressions and feelings of a first reading of Guillermo's story. He describes it as "a never-ending ascendant piano spiral with a simple vocal line for voice, violin or orchestra. A main character sings the song to Ofelia, and (I hope) the melody becomes emblematic of her longing for happiness and beauty. The 3/4 rhythm of the lullaby also influenced other pieces, and as the working of the score advanced, Guillermo and I were more and more aware that the waltz was the music for this story."
