Frequent touring for Rated R generated support for the band which grew when Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl joined in late 2001/early 2002 to record their third album. Songs for the Deaf was released in August, again featuring Mark Lanegan, as well as adding former A Perfect Circle guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen to the touring line up following the album's release. Although Songs for the Deaf gained major attention, Grohl returned to his other projects and was replaced on the European leg of the album's supporting tour by former Danzig drummer Joey Castillo...

This is an absolutely amazing album. Buy it right now, dont even finish reading this. It really is that great. It is versatile and varied. you get death metal(six shooter), pop rock(no-one knows) and even aucoustic epics in the led zeppelin vein(mosquito song).these guys are changing rock for the better and are showing what it means to be really great at what you do.This cd is an epic listening experience, from start to finish all of it is very very good.

When I first heard this band I was knocked really hard. I left it alone for a week and now I'm hooked. This is true rock music. Too many bands these days are attaching some political message to their music or just go on about failed relationships (would you like some cheese with that whine?). This band is different. The whole cd is just filled with kick-ass rock music that will blow your ears off. It contains great classic rock elements as well as their own unique, sludgy, sleazy, and ultimately epic sound. BUY IT NOW!
