Short description

The Black Parade is the third studio album by the rock quintet My Chemical Romance. Released in October 23, 2006 through Reprise Records, it was produced by Rob Cavallo, who has also produced albums for Green Day. The album is the first for which Bob Bryar plays drums, as Matt Pelissier played drums for Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. It is a concept album centering on a character known as "The Patient". The album presents the story of his passage out of life, and his subsequent reflection on his life.

Long description

My Chemical Romance are back - bigger and better and more dramatic than ever before. After the success of their debut album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge - which sold more than two million copies worldwide - MCR are back with an album to blow everyone away. It's a rock opera from beginning to end.

Capturing the right emotions and sounds is critical for My Chemical Romance this time around, as they have grand plans for their new CD. "We want this to be the album that My Chemical Romance is remembered for," says Mikey. "We all have records that shaped our childhood and teen years. When you hear a song, it shoots you back to a moment in time. We want this album to do that for people. We want the entire world to be moved".

Excellent follow up to 3 Cheers for Sweet Revenge. The band has matured and Gerard Way's voice gets better with each CD. A must for all My Chem fans.

Amazing. The adjectives will never end. One of very few albums where all the tracks are high quality. Even the hidden track is worth a listen. Clever lyrics, hard riffs and athem-like power in each track makes this album worth every cent.

  Black parade - addictive

This album took me by surprise. The highlight of the album is definitely "welcome to the black parade", in my opinion a future classic! It has potential of being mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Bohemian Rapsody! This is a very dark, well constructed album, with music that I found irresistable. Love it!
