Hugh recently completed three critically acclaimed international tours of Europe, the US
and Middle East, and he is billed to play at the upcoming 30th Anniversary celebrations of
Johannesburg's Market Theatre, amongst many other live performances during 2006.
This collection of Hugh's music is titled simply THE COLLECTION and consists of a CD with a bonus DVD.
The CD features some Masekela classics. Among these are Hugh's moving version of
Caiphus Semenya's "Bo Masekela", as well as his interpretations of songs like "Strawberries". The compilation also features Hugh's original compositions, like the evergreen "Stimela".
The bonus DVD features seven songs, including "Thanayi" which is one of Hugh's more recent hits. "Send Me" and "District Six" also feature on the DVD.
THE COLLECTION is vintage Masekela and adds yet another great release to this icon's repertoire.
