You'll know these guys from the massive single "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous". On their second album Good Charlotte is making soulful punk-pop (if there is such a thing) that doesn't have the fury of the all-pierced out punk boys, nor the over-production and saccharine of the hair-gelled boy band. Nifty choruses and tunes that kick butt - Good Charlotte is sinking pop hooks into their punk songs. They are also less intrigued by pimped-out cars, girls who put out and other juvenile obsessions than other peer punk contenders Blink 182 or new Found Glory - though no less gifted. This is a downright cool record if you dig punkish pop.
