      design flaws

I had a garmin edge for a less than a year. The product was great when it worked. Problem is it kept switching off when riding, especially when the bike went over a small bump or it was a very hot day. It was 'fixed' or replaced under warranty but the problem persisted. Thereafter they want to charge to fix it. Searching the web I found that the edge units have a design flaw in them in that the battery connectors fail...many people have the same trouble. Check out the problem on the web before you buy. I replaced the garmim unit with a polar watch - no problems. I wouldn't recommend the garmin edge to anyone until garmin fixes this design flaw with the edge units
