  Green Zone Dead Zone

There are better Matt Damon films available than this one, watch this movie if you're completely hooked on Matt and ran out of movies to watch. Green Zone has a slow moving plot with very little development in terms of the characters; I think Matt wanted to make a statement with this movie and the war in Iraq. But in is an aimless plot, maybe a true reflection of what really happened and still happens in war situations but I’ve seen better portrayals of the subject. Matt’s an excellent character actor, just watch Goodwill Hunting, but this one did not manage to keep me awake.

Not one of my favourites. In the film, Damon stars as Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller, a rogue U.S. Army must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil before war escalates in an unstable region. This is not a movie you will be able to watch twice, quite dreary.

Taking place in Baghdad, it obviously has a slight political plot, but nothing that a non-American will not be able to understand. Matt Damon as a soldier is believable, however his character is the only one we get to know, aside from the political suits in the Green Zone. A few action scenes with things blowing up and guns firing, but nothing spectacular. The star of the movie has to be the translator, Freddy, his personal stake in the whole plot is the most believable.
