Short description

Visari, the leader of the Helghast is gone, but the war is far from over. Helghast forces have mounted a devastating counterattack, prompting the ISA (Interplanetary Strategic Alliance) to smoke out evacuation of planet Helghan. As new Helghast battalions appear, armed with more powerful weapons, ISA forces find themselves outmanned, outgunned and surrounded. Players of Killzone 3 will need to learn more about their enemy and use new tools to continue the fight

Long description

Continuing from Killzone 2, players find Emperor Visari, the viscious dictator of the Helghast, dead at the feet of Sev and Rico. However this war is far from won. In the wake of Visari's death, Helghan has devolved into a world of political scheming, rapid infighting, and murder. Now, the two most powerful men on Helghan are fighting for complete and utter dominance while Visari’s vision of Helghan is in jeopardy. With limited supplies and no re-enforcements, the ISA must now fight not to win a war, but to survive a lost one.

In Killzone 3, players once again face the hostile Helghast army, battling overwhelming odds in the fight for human survival. Killzone 3 delivers a single-player campaign as well as full featured multiplayer mode.

Bigger and Better than Killzone 2
Reviewed by Ra33z_19 from Pretoria, South Africa. on 02 August 2012

Enter Killzone 3, the follow up to the 2009 hit Killzone 2. I am confident to say that Killzone 3 triumphs over Killzone 2 in every possible way, with a few exceptions. The graphics are probably the best for any FPS to appear on the PS3, and Killzone 3 adds a variety of environments in which you play through. The the stark neutral brown, black, grey colours found in Killzone 2 do appear in Killzone 3 but not as much as they did in the previous game. There are varied environments including a Helghast Junge, a Helghast Artic Outpost and a battle which takes place in a Helghast Space port. The story sadly falters a bit as it doesn't really flesh out the characters in the game. The Helghast once again steal the show here, leaving the generic ISA in the dust. The Helghast are just as hard to take down as they were in Killzone 2 but it's more satisfying this time thanks to the tight controls. The online multiplayer is a blast if you have the time to invest in it. I can confidently say that, as a PS3 owner, you MUST play this game.

Following Killzone2, Killzone3 had a lot to live up to. And sadly, it didnt make the cut. The game is very short, 5 to 6 hours. The so-called 'boss' fight was underwhelming, and the story is meagre. One thing that is excellent is the graphics. There's no denying Killzone3 looks incredible. But after such a short campaign, I felt cheated. The only reason I would recommend it is for the multiplayer.
