While the new Afrikaans-language musical, Liefling, continues its amazing box office run (it had made just under R9m in four weeks), the film’s soundtrack has sold over 22,000 units in three weeks, earning gold status.

Long description

The CD is a top seller at certain Look & Listen stores and is the 13th best seller on the Afrikaans charts at CNA and the 8th best seller on the Afrikaans charts at Musica.

Liefling Die Movie is being distributed by Indigenous Film Distribution. CEO Helen Kuun notes that the film is now the best performing Afrikaans language movie of all time, 28% bigger than the previous record holder Lipstiek Dipstiek, at R6.3m. Recent Afrikaans teen comedy hit Bakgat 2 earned just over R 5.3m when it released earlier this year and 177,000 tickets were sold. Liefling has sold 43% more tickets than Bakgat 2 did.

Wow how good. Al your favourite songs IN AFRIKAANS YIPEEEE featuring top class artist. Realy good song from Bobby van Jaarsveld - My lewe draai net om jou. And the legendary Sonja Herold. Big suprise to me was voshaarnooi - Wow
