Got this game last week, have been looking forward to it for a long time!!! Its not a bad game at all, its good fun, but its more of the same Rugby08, so if you enjoyed Rugby08 you should enjoy this... Looking forward to what Rugby Challenge has to offer though...

After the build up to the actual rugby world cup I rushed out this weekend and bought this title for the Xbox and what a complete dissapointment. The game was weak, had no substance to it and absolutely no bite to any of the gameplay. The entire game smacked of simply rushing out a very diluted version of the 2007 world cup game but under a new title.
The game lacked atmosphere, extras, no anthems and not even the haka. On top of everything the creators of the game were unable to secure the NZ licensing so none of the all blacks star in the game which considering it is set in NZ is a major failure.
The commentators were the same old rehash, the gameplay was dull and boring, and the finale after winning the world cup was non existant. All things considered this game was a compelte waste of time and money and you should rather steer clear of this one.
On a positive note, I hear great things about Jonah Lomu rugby challenge which will be out over here on the 8th of Septemeber 2011. Sadly, they too have not been able to secure the SA licensing but if initial rumours are to be believed then the gameplay is astounding, the graphics brilliant and they ahve made up for the small failures in the game by including a lot of extras and different leagues to be chosen from. I can't wait till then to see how the 2 major rugby titles this year measure up.
Until then my advice is hold on a little longer and avoid the Rugby World cup 2011 title.
