It's ePub, need download via Adobe Digital Edition

When you start to download it a small file with the extension .acsm is first downloaded. This is used by Adobe Digital Editions to send the activation ID to the delivery server which will use that ID to generate an encrypted PDF/ePub eBook, which is then downloaded to your PC. If your computer is asking you where to save the .acsm file then your Adobe Digital Editions may not be installed correctly or not yet authorized. Often you can solve this issue by simply setting your computer to always use Adobe Digital Editions to open this type of file (in Windows XP, for instance, right click on the file and choose Open With, select Adobe Digital Editions and tick the box to tell Windows to remember the setting; for other operating systems please read your documentation).
BTW, If the files you bought have any kind of DRM on them then you will not be able to read them in iBooks unless you got them from the Apple iBooks Store. If they have no DRM then all you need to do is drag them into iTunes and then sync them to the iPad.
Kalahari should list this information up front at ebooks home page!

Didn't know that all the files on kalahar digital downlads are Adobe Digital dependant - the adobe program is not support by my Galaxy tab - will not buy here again, unless I can use it with my own reader software.

Format isn't ePub - it's ACSM

I bought this because it said it was ePub format but after I paid for the file and downloaded it, all I got was an .acsm file. Sucks!! My iPad doesn't seem to read .acsm or I just can't figure out how, and now I've bought the same book twice and can't read either!!
