From previous reviews I had read I did not anticipate much from the movie, but it was really one of those that you struggle to watch until the end. Unless you really have time on your hands, and nothing better to watch, I would not recommend this movie.

Water For Elephants review

Water For Elephants had the potential to be a sweeping and memorable romantic drama, but unfortunately it just doesn't achieve that goal. To blame for this, is a complete and utter lack of chemistry between the two leads - Robert Pattinson, and his much older co-star, Reese Witherspoon. A viewer just cannot connect emotionally with a love story between the characters of two actors who look like they'd much rather be doing something else, than spending time on screen with each other. This renders the film inescapably flat. And on another sour note, if you're an animal lover you'll definitely find some scenes disturbing - more so if you're aware that the real-life trainers of Tai the elephant were accused of cruelty to the large 4-legged star.
