Long description
Nintendo’s flagship sports title returns with a varied selection of new activities made possible by the Wii MotionPlus add-on.
Bundled with every Wii console, Wii Sports was at the forefront of Nintendo’s rise to worldwide games domination, pioneering the concept that games don’t have to be complex to be fun. Wii Sports Resort may follow a similar notion to its predecessor, but also establishes its own innovation: Wii MotionPlus. Slotting into the bottom of the Wii Remote, Wii MotionPlus adds an entirely new level of responsiveness to the controller, opening up possibilities for a whole series of sports-based activities. By first parachuting down to the sports resort island, players can experience the feel of the new control scheme for themselves.
Using this new control scheme is a series of sports based around island activities, including Sword Play, Table Tennis and Basketball. Recreations of Wii Sports favourites such as Bowling and Golf also take full advantage of the Wii MotionPlus to improve performance. 12 sports in total are scattered across the resort to try.
Nintendo has opened up a whole new audience for casual gaming, and Wii Sports Resort should once more introduce a unique control scheme to fresh gaming fans.
